Community Guidelines

Chalkline lets a teacher publish a page that anyone with the link can open. That openness is what makes it useful, and it is also why these rules exist.

Do not publish

  • Other people’s personal information. No learner surnames, addresses, phone numbers, ID numbers, medical details or photographs of identifiable children on a public class page.
  • Abuse or harassment. Nothing that demeans, threatens or singles out a person.
  • Threats or violence, including anything that could be read as a threat to a school or a person.
  • Sexual content or material unsuitable for a school audience.
  • Hateful content targeting people by race, religion, ethnicity, disability, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation.
  • Unsafe files. Executables and scripts are blocked; do not attempt to work around that.
  • Anything unlawful, or content you do not have the right to share.

Reporting

Every public class page and activity has a report link, and so does every class and activity in the phone apps. You do not need an account in either place, and you do not need to know who the teacher is — the report carries that context automatically.

We review reports and aim to respond within 24 hours. Depending on what we find we may warn the teacher, unpublish the activity, revoke the class link, or suspend the account.

Blocking

Signed-in users can block a teacher, which hides their content from you. If you are not signed in you can hide an activity on your own device.

If we get it wrong

If we remove something and you think we should not have, reply to the notice or write to info@chalkline.club and a person will look at it again.
